The Hispanic National Law Enforcement Association (HNLEA) along with the United Black Police Officers' Association (UBPOA) is holding its Strength in Unity Awards Banquet on Saturday, November 15, 2014. At this year’s event, significant contributions to the community will be recognized. In addition, we will introduce the newly formed chapter of the Hispanic American Police Command Officers' Association, National Capitol Region (HAPCOA NCR). For more information click here.

Hispanic American Police Command Officers' Association, National Capitol Region to be formally introduced at Strength in Unity Banquet

HAPCOA, UBPOA & HNLEA invited to participate on Body Worn Camera Expert PanelThe U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Office of Justice Programs’ (OJP) Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is working to develop a web-based toolkit for police agencies adopting Body Worn Camera programs. Intended as a clearinghouse for information and resources, the toolkit will provide guidance and act as a model policy for law enforcement agencies across the United States.Invited to attend the DOJ meeting and representing HAPCOA was Joe Perez, President, National Capitol Region Chapter.

Christmas Baskets for the Needy 2014The Hispanic American Police Command Officers’ Association-National Capitol Region, the Hispanic National Law Enforcement Association, the United Black Police Officers’ Association along with the Prince George’s County Police Department have identified many families in need, especially so during the holiday season. These families will be provided with food baskets and other donations to help them in this time of need.

Strength in Unity BanquetOn November 15, the Hispanic National Law Enforcement Association (HNLEA), and the United Black Police Officers’ Association (UBPOA) held the annual Strength in Unity Awards banquet. The consistent theme expressed throughout the event was the need for us all to “strive to appreciate culture and diversity through unity.” A number of influential speakers expressed that same desire for each of their respective law enforcement agencies.



HAPCOA, the Hispanic American Police Command Officers Association, established in 1973, is the oldest and largest association in the U.S. of Hispanic American command officers from law enforcement and criminal justice agencies at the municipal, county, state and federal levels.
